Mr. Madden began his career in the family’s building supply and energy business, where he played a key role in scaling a regional network of operations across Arkansas. In 1963, he led the family’s expansion into the hospitality sector with the development of its first hotel. At age 32, he became one of the youngest franchise owners in the Holiday Inn system, marking the beginning of a multi-decade presence in the industry.

Under his leadership, the Madden family built, acquired, and operated a diversified portfolio of hotel assets across the United States. His approach combined disciplined acquisition strategy with hands-on operational oversight, driving consistent performance and long-term asset appreciation across multiple market cycles.

In the early 2000s, Mr. Madden co-founded Trinity Financial Services alongside his sons, expanding the family’s platform into financial services and investment management. His experience across real estate and operating businesses informed the firm’s strategic direction and contributed to its development as a vertically integrated investment platform.

His experience includes the acquisition, repositioning, and operation of hotel assets, as well as large-scale investments in distressed mortgage portfolios sourced from institutional sellers.

Throughout his career, Mr. Madden has led the execution of a broad range of investment strategies, including hospitality acquisitions, residential development, and credit-oriented investments. Don A. Madden III is a Principal at Madden Companies and leads the firm’s investment activities across real estate and credit. As a third-generation member of the Madden family enterprise, his role reflects a continuation of the firm’s long-standing focus on disciplined capital deployment and long-term value creation.

Mr. Madden began his career in the firm’s mortgage investment business, where he was involved in the acquisition and management of distressed residential loan portfolios sourced from institutional sellers. This early experience in credit-oriented investing provided a foundation in asset-level underwriting, market dislocation, and value-based investment strategy.

Building on that experience, Mr. Madden now oversees the firm’s investment activities across residential development and real estate acquisitions, leading the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of projects from acquisition through completion. His work spans both equity and credit strategies, combining investment discipline with hands-on operational execution.
